Hi Community,

is there a Chance to install Win7 64bit via BootCamp on a MB Air early 2015 (Core i7 256GB SSD (GB RAM)?

I tried many Options. Downgrade to Mavericks is not working.

are you trying to install off of an OEM CD or DVD or a copy or something entirely different like a disk image or USB drive?

Yosemite supports Win 7 installation with Boot Camp Assistant. How are you doing this and at what point does it fail?

    Hi Jimmy,

I tried to install by a Win7 Pro DVD (no OEM) with BootCamp. It comes an Spalsh that Win 7 is not supported in this OS.

I tried to install via USB too. Same

I tried to install via System Start with DVD. I got only a Black Screen.

It's "grandfathered", I can boot to Win XP on my Yosemite box but I had to do the install in an earlier OS.

If you have a legitimate serial number for W7 and can get hold of another disk from somewhere I'd try that and if it doesn't work it's possible Apple dropped W7 as a possibility in the 10.10 upgrade path.

Otherwise if you had an older OS on another partition or USB drive boot off that and do the install on the partition you set up in Yosemite.

my boot camp assistant screen in 10.10.0  looks like this:

I'm not updating to 10.10.3 until they work some kinks out.

No, your model of MacBook Air only supports Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. Windows 7 on this model of Mac is not supported any more:

If you need to use Windows 7 on this unit, your options are limited to Virtualization software like Virtualbox or Paralles.

I know it's been a while so you may have moved on but this thread is one of the top Google hits for "air 2015 windows 7" so chances are many people get here looking to do the same. If anyone's still interested it is now possible to natively run Windows 7 on the Early 2015 Air. Check out this thread over at MacRumors for my guide.
