Q: Re: If Mail unexpectedly quits while viewing certain messages

Why doesn't the code handle this case and give the user a meaningful message regarding the corrupt mail?  As it stands I can't figure out which message is the one causes the app to crash.  This is a severe bug.  What's the ETA for a fix?

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions, so ETA for fix unknown.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Or you can use your Apple ID to register with this site and go the Apple BugReporter. Supposedly you will get an answer if you submit feedback.

Your report shows you are running OS X 10.5.1. If there is a fix it will be included in the newer version of Mail. Please confirm what version OS X.

Under the Apple in the Menu bar select About this Mac.

Is your Mac capable of running Yosemite?

    Yosemite Requirements

    iMac (Mid-2007 or newer)

MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, Early 2009 or newer)

MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)

MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)

Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)

Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)

    Xserve (Early 2009)

Apple's other official requirements are 2GB of RAM and 8GB of available storage; Personally I feel 4GB of RAM  is minimum. I would recommend 8GB RAM for a better experience with Yosemite .

There are number of Macs that are limited to Lion 10.7.5.

    MacBook 2.1, 3.1 and 4.1

    MacBook Air 1.1

    MacBook Pro 2.1 & 2.2

    MacMini 2.1

    iMac 5.1, 5.2, & 6.1

    MacPro 1.1 & 2.1
