Q: Why do my fingerprints only work for a few days?

i Have to keep redoing them every few days. When I try them in the settings, the fingers do not get highlighted, so I reset them, again.then they'll work for several more days. iPhone 6+

This is a useless non-"security" feature.    You have to enter your passcode

    • When more than 48 hours have elapsed from the last time you unlocked your device.

This makes no sense.  There needs to be an option to turn this 48n hour feature on or off.  Your fingerprint is far more secure than the passcode.

Edit: It also is required whenever the phone is rebooted.  Why Apple Why???  Think like a customer.

    Hi

Restore iPhone back to factory settings .

    You may have a bug.

Finger prints on my iPhone 5s has worked for 2 years with no problem .

Do restore set back up over your WiFi .

    Use same Apple ID .

    Cheers

No, that will not work.  This is a "feature" of the TouchID.  See TouchID instructions.  Apple screwed up . . . again.
