Q: [iOS 8.3] Music Genius' Terms of Service are empty - cannot accept

Hi Everyone,

Just bought my iPhone 6, and faced the strange issue: when i'm trying to activate the Genius(whatever in Settings/Music or in the Music app itself - the result is the same), it wants me to accept the Terms of Service. But the page displayed is competely empty! If i push the button "Accept" at top-right corner, it thinks a while and says that "The terms of service are changed, you have to accept them" with buttons "Cancel" and "Read", First button disables the Genius back and exits and second one - returns to the empty "Terms of Service" page.

So the result - the GeniusPlaylist is totally unusable. It's very strange, since that iTunes on my PC (MS Windows 7) is fully operational, including the Genius, and i even can generate it's playlists and sync them to Iphone(it is assembled to Multi-GB package and downloaded to phone), but use the built-in Iphone's Genius(which, as i understand, will use the iPhone's library) is totally impossible.

I've tried:

- play with Safari popup/cookie/security settings

- change language

- phone settings reset

- full iPhone wipe with F/W reinstall and re-activation

- try to use both the WiFi and 3G data

All useless

Is this some kind of fresh iOS 8.3 bug, or some Region restriction (i'm from Ukraine, Kiev) ?

How can it be fixed? Maybe there is some way to access that Terms of Service page, push that checkbox and/or accept it directly somehow?

Please, help! To be honest, i've bought iPhone mostly of it's outstanding music capabilities, and the problem of this kind ****** me off enormously...

    Hi Andrew,

    Unfortunately, I didn't.

But, after several repetitive attempts across the week (i had been hoping that EULA is linked to some web source and gonna be fixed soon, so i continued trying to "Accept") it somehow accepted terms itself at the Music app side, but not at the Settings side. In another words, feature is active now and i can use Genius playlist, it works fine, but at the Settings/Music the Genius switch remains disabled and when i'm trying to turn it on, it continues to harass me with the Terms of Service(empty, of course) and denies the acceptance.

So apparently, aside from ToS bug, there is also some another glitch, that allows to bypass/accept/dunno the ToS and use the Genius anyway.

We tried to reproduce this thing on another Iphone 6 with the same iOS 8.3, but there was no success.

So, as a conclusion, the Genius is higly bugged stuff, that really need to be fixed by Apple... As for now, the only thing i can recommend, is to rape the phone with random input simultaneously with ToS accept spamming and iTunes music and playlist data syncing (don't forget to activate and accept the Genius on the iTunes side of your PC) and hope for best. Good luck with that... And, of course, hope that this stuff is going to be fixed and work properly on iOS 8.4.

    Best Regards,

    Youdge

    Hi Youdge,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

From my side, I contacted Apple support and after a short discussion I understood that the problem is in the location associated with the Apple ID (I'm from Kiev too)

I overcame the bug by doing temporary change of the Country/Region settings to Russia. Geinus ToS has been shown correctly in this case. After accepting it I've put correct information back. Everything works so far.

But you are right, Genius is pretty buggy.

    Best regards,

    Andrew

    Hello,

I have got the same issue.

The Country/Region setting is locked. How did you do your temporary change?

    Thanks in advance.
