Q: ipod shuffle 2nd generation

Hi there! I'm having trouble with mi ipod shuffle 2nd generation. It's low battery, and when I connect it to the USB of  mi computer (which has windows system), the orange light starts to twinkle a little bit and then it turns off. I know that, if the red or orange light gets steady, it's a sign that the battery it's charging, but that doesn't happen...

I have already updated I tunes, so I dont think that's the problem...

what should I do?

I would be really grateful if you help me..

iPod shuffle, Windows XP

Since I have windows system, I selected the option "Enable Disk Use" in ITunes , because I saw in a discussion that if this option is not selected, the iPod will not charge when connected to a computer with Windows 2000.

In fact, the orange light now blinks but I it wont stay steady. So the battery its not charging...

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities

When the iPod is charging the light will stay at a solid orange. Check out this article on diagnosing the iPod from the charts Apple supplied.

thank U,zmclearan, so I saw the article that you posted and it says

Blinking orange indicates that the unit is syncing with iTunes or that disk use was enabled in iTunes. In this state, iPod shuffle may be charging or fully charged. Check the charge status icon next to the iPod shuffle in iTunes or eject iPod shuffle from iTunes but leave it connected to USB and determine if the status light changes to solid green or solid orange.

I knew that When the iPod is charging the light will stay at a solid orange, because I have charged it before but in other computer.

My question is, is it better to Enable the disc use in iTunes or to take off this setting?or that doesnt make any difference?

It should not make a difference whether the device is in disk mode or not.

OK . So the light of my shuffle turned off, while connected to the computer. The orange light  only blinked when filling it with music. Then I ejected the shuffle and disconnected it from the computer and  the green light turned on but only for a really few secondes. Apparently it works, so maybe it is charged..
