Feb 25, 2015 6:04 PM in response to lydianicoleeeeby kickyrules123,I actually figured out a way to do this without using third parties. And this works for all music in your library.
If you bought a new computer and the old one is still completely working you can use music sharing. Go to preferences>Sharing>Then click share my library on a local network. You can set a password and pick what playlists you would like to share. I'm not sure if both computers need to be sharing but I do not think they do. After you share the library on your old computer go to your new one and in the bar where it has the music, video, and tv show icon there will be a new icon with a picture of a house. Press that and go click on the library that is not your computer and it will show all of the songs on your other computer. Afterwards you can either pick single albums to import or by pressing control you can choose multiple albums at a time to import. Just remember that iTunes must be open on the old computer in order to get it's library. Hope this helps!
If you are using only an iPod, iPhone, or iPad, and a computer you can use home sharing but I did not try it so im not completely sure if it works. here is a link. Learn more about Home Sharing - Apple Support

No, you figured how to copy from old computer to new computer, not from iPhone to computer.

Feb 26, 2015 5:54 AM in response to Chris CAby kickyrules123,AActually at the bottom of my post I sajd that u could use home sharing which is in the setting of your iPod iphone or iPad. I did not try this method though so I am not sure exactly how to do it. In my original post I gave you a link for using home sharing. It should have the same steps as I had mentioned after you get to your iPhones library

Feb 26, 2015 6:00 AM in response to kickyrules123by turingtest2,You've missed the point. iTunes alone cannot be used to extract non-store purchases from an Apple device. People are looking for a solution when they still have a working device, but no access to a copy of their library on any computer. Home Sharing doesn't help. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for a complete solution.

Feb 26, 2015 6:09 AM in response to turingtest2by kickyrules123,IIf you read the article you would know that it would work. But it's not like you just go to your iPhone lobrary and instantly its on your computer. You have to import the songs. The article that I linked says that it would work but just a reminder i only read the article. I did not need to use my phone to transfer music. Read around about home sharing and how to set it up and then try.

Feb 26, 2015 6:14 AM in response to kickyrules123by turingtest2,Home Sharing lets you copy content between shared computer libraries.
Home Sharing lets you play shared content on an Apple device.
Nowhere in that article does it state that you can use the Home Sharing features to copy media from an Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod touch into an iTunes Library, because that isn't the way the feature is designed to work. If you want to copy media (apart from Apple purchases) from an iOS device then you will need the assistance of some third party software. For non-iOS devices Windows Explorer or Finder can be used.

Feb 26, 2015 6:25 AM in response to kickyrules123by Limnos,The Home Sharing article says:
"With Home Sharing, you can stream music and video from one authorized computer to another [computer], or drag music between computer libraries." - only between computers, not iOS devices to computer.
"Home Sharing also allows you to play your content on your iOS devices (running iOS 4.3 or later) and Apple TV (2nd generation or later) by streaming from your computer." - Note it says from a computer, not to, and it is streaming which means the content stays on the computer and plays back on the device.
Suggestion 1: When reading articles by Apple read them word by word. If they say "purchased content" then they mean iTunes Store purchases only. If they say "computer" they mean computer.
Suggestion 2: Bear in mind the media companies are frantic about piracy. Apple depends upon the media companies to permit them to sell media. Now, is a feature going to be included (or even a loophole) which allows easy transferal of a CD collection from one person's iPhone when he is over at his friend's house for the afternoon? Unlikely!

Mar 8, 2015 7:11 AM in response to lydianicoleeeeby Gioberto,After spending half a day browsings, testing and searching the only headache free, and wallet free ( NO MONEY) option i found was to just use a normal PC, download the app "appandora" and it will let scan your iphone music library and give you the option to export it . Once thats done load the exported music again back into itunes and voila, you can now fully restore your phone.
I had the initial problem that out of the 650 music files i tunes would only recognize one album, my entire music collection was not available on my macbook anymore because my hd had crashed and i didnt make a backup in time so the situation was that i only had my music on my iphone. It took me a lot of hours and frustration to figure it out but i found that the only option where i didnt have to pay for a software package was to revert to a windows computer, and use the appandora app. I have tried over 20 options from winamp with plugins, to senuti, i rip, dropbox phontunes etc. etc. all of them would only have a limited trial and then offer a paid alternative.
Good luck!

Apr 29, 2015 12:41 AM in response to lydianicoleeeeby Choi-wonchooi,i think, you log into your iTunes account, and then click on music and it should show your music with a cloud at the top click the cloud and it should start downloading your music onto you iTunes from iCloud, or back your phone to the computer.

May 31, 2015 7:26 PM in response to Code-EZby Tomeopaste,Note that installing the software recommended by Code-EZ will also install lots of fun "extras," i.e. browser extensions that you probably do not want.
