Q: How do I change the apple ID that my iPod touch presents when I access the app store?

I have a 32G iPod touch, old but still going strong. I recently set up a new Apple ID as the previous email address I used has been ceased and is no longer accessible to me. Everything is working OK except that when I attempt to access the app store to download an update to my Sonos app the iPod presents me with the old Apple ID and requests the old password.

I have tried both resetting the iPod and even wiping out all the settings and content and then re-synching.

The new Apple ID works fine and appears on my PC.

Any ideas?

Thanks

iPod touch, iOS 6.1.6

    - Go to settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out and sign into your account.

    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.

    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

you either have to delete the apps purchased with the old account or recover use of the old account

What if I no longer have access to the email address I use for my Apple ID?

It's important to keep your Apple ID information up to date. If you no longer have access to the email address you currently use for your Apple ID, simply change it to your current, working email address. This will allow you to continue using your account and will ensure you can receive important account-related emails, reset your password, and more.

You can change your Apple ID to any other email address you control, as long as it's not already in use as an Apple ID.
