Mar 5, 2015 10:11 AM in response to exploshenby Sur4z,I too was having the same problem so I took a small piece of duck tape and wrapped it around the top of the plug and it worked like a charm...not very attractive but who cares, the phone is in my pocket and that annoying voice is not in my head!

Mar 17, 2015 4:22 AM in response to Pstim00236by Harry the Rock,Pstim00236, your suggestion seems working for me and so far (about half an hour) no "Voice Control" on screen. Thanks.
I did two things:
1. Disabled the Voice Dial as you have suggested.
2. Changed my generic headsets back to Apple pair.

Apr 13, 2015 5:45 AM in response to blonde_furyby latrischler,This happens to me and I don't use headphones. It happens frequently when I am on a phone call in speaker mode, with the phone laying flat on my desk. I have turned off every single thing I can find that pertains to voice control, nothing has worked so far. It is so frustrating!
I just installed iOS 8.3 .... maybe.... one can always hope...

May 1, 2015 10:46 PM in response to blonde_furyby Tinyghost,Glad I found this thread, I thought I was losing it or that my iPhone 6 was trolling me. I didn't delete some old contacts so I managed to '*** dial' (phone was in my back pocket) my ex-girlfriend, an ex friend and a current friend while ordering coffee, walking home and listening to music and while riding a motorcycle.
I thought my headphones (Sony in-ear noise cancelling headphones seen in photo 3) were broken until I saw this thread. I'm currently using a Lifeproof frē case (link: http://www.lifeproof.com/shop/us_en/iphone-6-cases/iphone-6-case-fre/?color=Blac k+%2F+Black ) which has it's own adaptor for the headphones (seen in photo 1 + 2):
PHOTO 2)
PHOTO 3)
I read through and realised it's probably the jack which leaves me with two options: top using the Lifeproof case (not a good option as I have it for a reason) or cycle through different headphones (the expensive option and I can't really afford that) and see what's what. My only other headphones I can test with are the Apple headphones that came with my iPhone, and I hate them (they don't have noise reduction and the quality is bad in comparison).
Frustrating considering this same set of headphones seems to cause my phone calls to hang up randomly (even without voice control showing up) so it seems like I'm being forced to use Apple headphones if I don't want this issue.
Tested my phone with and without my Lifeproof case and it seems to be just using any non-Apple headphones. Frustrating as ****.

May 3, 2015 5:59 PM in response to ShaneLK7by Johnforse,Thanks for your observation,
I've just looked at all my non-Apple ear buds and all types except Apple have a metal collar at the join to the plastic body of the pin, which touches the metal edge of the phone (ip6). I noticed like you, that the problem occurred whenever the cable was moved in any way. I cut an adhesive plastic tape collar to slide down over the pin & hey presto , problem gone without disabling Siri, Voice control, or resetting.
iOS 8, or the hardware of iphone 6, must be sensitive to the metallic contact at this spot; which Apple will probably correct without notification or apology sometime in the future; (or won't, as they want us to use Apple buds).
It doesn't seem to happen on the iPad Air 2 using the same iOS.

May 12, 2015 4:23 AM in response to blonde_furyby Tiipou,I'm having this issue also and with Apple headset that came with package. I have iPhone 6 with iOS 8.3 (12F70). Really really annoying and nothing seems to help but not using the headset. That's not an answer. Apple please respond.

May 16, 2015 3:38 PM in response to TFXWby Jgt773,I think you need to separate the issues of "Siri" from "Voice Control." I have an iPhone 5S with iOS 8 (now 8.3) and disabled Siri long ago with no issues, but like the majority of the folks here, had the same issue with headphones and Voice Control. Without having tested it yet, it appears the problem involves 3rd party headphones having metal on metal contact at the iPhone jack causing Voice Control to trigger randomly which as reported by others can be fixed with electricians tape preventing the metal contact.

May 23, 2015 2:07 PM in response to blonde_furyby petitetype,i was having this issue too and it was so frustrating. I bought this http://www.meelec.com/MEElectronics_O_Ring_Spacers_p/ep-oring-mee.htm
if you don't mind having the spacer on your jack, then this works like a charm.

Jul 14, 2015 5:15 AM in response to petitetypeby sk.28,Thanks for the link, but aw man, I'd have to pay $8 in shipping just to get those to my place in Canada. And there's no guarantee that they'd solve my issue!
Anyway, I'm suffering from the same problem as the rest of you, just check my post in another thread about this issue. My beloved JLab earphones work properly with every smartphone in my house except for my iPhone 6. Other headphones work fine with the iPhone 6... everything except the JLabs! It's seriously perplexing at this point. The issue started when I updated a free video downloading app and used it for the first time in a long time. After downloading a video, Voice Control kept coming up every time I accidentally shifted my earphones' cable and static sounded. After that, it just kept happening over and over whenever I had my JLab earphones plugged into my iPhone. I used Isopropyl alcohol to clean the phone's audio port and the JLabs' audio jack, but it didn't have any effect on the static. So I switched to using the horrible plastic Apple Earpods because I don't get the static with them. I hate them so much.
Unfortunately, the only other earphones I have with a built-in mic (volume control) are the Apple Earpods, which work 100% with my iPhone 6, obviously. Even a pair of cheap Chinese knockoff Apple earbuds I bought from a shady online stork work with the iPhone, but not my JLabs! Even the horrible built-in mic works. I'm so frustrated right now.
I tried my OEM Samsung earphones with the iPhone 6 (the standard ones that come with Samsung Galaxy phones), and yup, they work, but the built-in mic doesn't work.
However, I noticed something about my non-JLab earphones. None of the other earphones/headphones I tested with the iPhone 6 have a metal base at the jack like the JLab earphones do--they're all plastic there. So I'm convinced that's the problem right there. The metal collar/base/whatever is creating static when it comes into contact with the iPhone's audio port. The other earphones don't have this issue because they've got plastic where the JLabs have metal. I'm going to look to see if I have other earphones or headphones similar to my JLabs and I'll test them with my iPhone and report back with pics, but I don't think I'll figure out anything new.
Fact is, this issue shouldn't even be happening. I have a variety of Samsung devices and they work fine with the JLabs. No static whatsoever. I'm convinced Apple is doing this on purpose, to increase sales for their uncomfortable, overpriced OEM earphones.
