I live in an area with limited internet connections, If I use iTunes match, but can't connect to the internet, will I still have songs on my iPhone or iPad?

    Hello NMcoop,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see you are concerned about having access to music if you have iTunes Match and no internet connection. If you have music stored on your iPhone, you will have access to that music, but not the music stored in the cloud. See the following articles for more information:

    iCloud: iTunes Match

Jeff, thanks.   Can I take this a step farther and ask, if I use match and it great form when I am around the internet, but when I load the songs on my iPhone, iPad or iPod, do they get load back on at the higher bit rate or what ever it was originally?  Like Hotel California was loaded via a CD, many years ago and I had iTunes before, but today on my computer it is still at 128kbps, so on my iPod it's at 128kbps.  Here http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/ that you don't lose upgrade songs, so I guess I would be able to save Hotel California at the higher rate?

    Hi NMcoop,

Yes, from the article you linked in your response:

Even better, all the music iTunes matches plays back from iCloud at 256-Kbps AAC DRM-free quality — even if your original copy was of lower quality.

So, if you download it from the Cloud, it will be at the higher quality.
