Q: Corrupted Photo App Library Files

I am not sure why there is an error in my Photo Library files. But my Photo Library Files are backed up in an external hard disc. I really want to recover all my photo. Based on some tries, I am sure that my Photo Library files is corrupted and cannot be opened for repair. Even my previous iPhoto Library files are corrupted too. However, my portable hard disc is brand new for less than a month and shouldn't have problems.

Anyone please help me, I will really thank you for that because these are all my important photos

Where is the Photos library that you cannot open? Is in in your Pictures folder or also on an external drive? if it is on an external drive, how are you connected to that drive? And are you using include Photo Library?

Since you have a back copy of your Photos library on an external drive, copy this library to your Pictures folder (if there is enough space) and double-click it to open.

    Is that restored copy readable?

    Thank you for your reply.

When I open the Photo App. It keep having the loading round bar but in the end, it doesn't load. Then it will go to the repair mode. But it cannot seem to repair.

My Photo Library folder is on the external drive. I connect via USB.

Due to the size of my photo folder, I have set the photo library folder to my external hard disc so I do not have my photo library in my Mac.

How is this drive formatted?  Is the filesystem MacOS Extended (Journaled) as recommended?

There may be permissions problems with the drive. Is the "Ignore Ownership on this volume" flag set for this drive?

If not, set the flag as described here for iPhoto:   iPhoto: Sharing libraries among multiple users - Apple Support
