Q: Apple Watch Band too small. Will there be a XL size?

As I looked through the options for the Apple Watch I was really pumped to get one. This was until I saw Apples band size chart. Immediately I realized that the band sizes would never fit my wrist. It is frustrating to think that Apple has alienated a whole group of customers because they decided not to make a XL Apple Watch Band. I guess my question to Apple is will there be a XL Apple Watch Band?

Its frustrating to think that I may not be able to pre order my device because of small bands.

My experience with bands on my 42mm watch, 230mm wrist:

I can get the Milanese Loop over my hand (just) and then it's plenty long enough for a 230mm wrist.

The Classic Buckle I have to do up on the last hole and it has no length in the band to create more holes.

The large leather band does not have to fit over your wrist like a milanese loop and will fit a wrist larger than mine! Try one on if you can.

I'm surprised that Apple reported the ML and Leather Band as being up to 200mm but they have given themselves plenty of leeway to allow for people who had trouble measuring their wrists.

I've got one of the largest hands on earth, my fist measures about 14" in circumference, 6'6" 335lbs

(always been a good deterent to young men dating my daughters) and live 150 miles from an Apple store. You think im wasting my time on the Milanese Loop?

Little closer measuring, wrist is 230mm tight need 235mm to be comfortable. I can get my hand to shrink down like if I had to get out of hancuffs to appx 280mm or 11". Apple needs to add to their scale a new bracket, larger men 200-250mm.

Large leather band for you then. Doesn't have to fit over your hand to be put on.

That was awesome. Loved when you pretended to turn off the camera

It looks like the milanese loop and the leather loop have a bit of room for larger wrists even than yours.

Well It seems like Apple won't be making the XL bands but they just launched a made for Apple Watch site for developers. https://developer.apple.com/watch/bands/

So it seems that those of us with bigger wrist will be getting our bands from 3rd party developers.

I am over it now. I have lost all my gusto for the Apple Watch.  I never wore a watch before anyway. The good news is it willsave me about $700.

Sadly there isn't an XL band and it doesn't look like 3rd parties have realized that there are larger wrists out there either. The best solution I have found is to use an Apple Watch adapter and then you can use whatever strap you want or already have.

I have the same problem from 2 extremes, I have 230mm wrists and like to wear my watch slightly loose so a 240mm is what I need. My wife is the other way and has tiny wrists.

I bought 2 Apple Watch Sports and hers on the smaller strap is just ok, also bought her a milanese loop strap for her sport and that just fits, but 10mm smaller on her wrists and it wouldn't.

On my sport I have punched 2 extra holes in same spacing as originals which means it fits but I cant tuck the strap inside itself. I use a small black rubber band to hold it down. Using a proper belt hole punch, it looks like the holes were there when made and with the rubber band it is safe and secure and looks fine.

I bought the leather loop which is quite a bit longer and think with 10mm smaller wrists I'd be fine but although it fastens, it needs to go a little further to be totally secure and if I bend my wrist or knock it, it comes undone. That is going back to Apple tomorrow for a refund so come on Apple, LONGER STRAPS PLEASE!!

I completely agree with this problem.  I worked at an Apple Store until this past spring.  I went in to check sizing.  There was no Apple Watch band that would fit my wrist.  Another Apple Store employee who I worked with also had this issue.  Apple Employees can't all use an Apple Watch because the strap is to short.

I have tried to buy the Watch with the XL band online, by calling Apple and at a retail store (Meadowhall) without success. It seems that you have to buy the watch with the two smaller bands and then buy the XL as an accessory for an extra £39.  Apple staff have been funny.  Lots of suggestions to buy the smaller strap and then ebay it or call customer service and negotiate an exchange - for a premium brand product this is not what I expect.

I tried to buy the Watch on launch - none of the straps fit.  Now one exists but I still can't buy it!!

I am 5'10" wrist size is 225mm - checking with work colleagues lots of people are in the XL size range.

If Apple reads this - please let me give you some more money.....
