    Greetings Ryantorres,

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you want to change teh birth dat on an existing Apple ID. I would recommend that you read this article, if you change it to any age below 13, you will not be able to change it.

Update the birth date associated with your Apple ID - Apple Support

To change your birth date to any age below 13*, you must be a member of a Family Sharing group and your family organizer must approve the change. After updating your birth date, follow the onscreen steps to send an email request to your family organizer. Your family organizer can sign in to My Apple ID to confirm the birth date change and agree to the Parent Privacy Disclosure agreement by entering the CVV of the credit card on file in their account.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Take care,

    Mario

    Hi Mario,

Thanks for the adivce. I run into a problem when using the proposed method. I have changed the birthdate of the account that should be set to child, so the child is now 10 years old. I got the confirmation email with the 'Approve Request' link. When I click the link I am required to log in with my Apple ID in a web browser. Once logged in a pop up appears that says (translated from Swedish):

    Debit card must be verified

Currently, there is a debit card registered to your Apple ID xxx.yyy@zzz.com .

To change the Apple ID for [childs name] to a child account, you must verify that you are an adult. You do this by adding a debit card as a payment method in iTunes ..

I click the 'Open iTunes' button, which takes me to iTunes and the update payment method page. I update the CVV of my credit card, and then hit the save button. Then nothing happens. It seems as if the verification process is broken somehow. In the iCloud settings on the child's iPad, under 'Account | Password and Security' the new birthdate is listed in grey, and below it says 'Awaiting confrimation from [my name]'.

I have tried this process both on the computer and on my iPhone, with the same lack of result. Please advise!
