Apr 26, 2015 8:41 AM in response to Robert36340by cyrux1,I have the exact same issue as CorpGreed with the same EPSON WF-3460. Sometimes I can reboot the printer and get it to show up in finder after my computer sleeps or is connected to a corp VPN. Other Bonjour devices are hit/miss on this 10.10.2 and now 10.10.3 also.

May 4, 2015 4:44 AM in response to Robert36340by Tim Hassett,I changed my wireless channel from "automatic" to channel 3. Since I've done this, I have not had any issues. Give this a try.

May 4, 2015 12:58 PM in response to General Mischiefby Stephen Presta,My problem was extremely slow printing. 10 minutes for a few words of text out of TextEdit. I have a Xerox Phaser 6360DX and adding it by IP address under Printers/IP tab w/LPD option it now prints lightening fast. Might be a DNS issue where it's trying to lookup the printer every time you send a job.

May 5, 2015 11:02 PM in response to Robert36340by Unloadedone,Sadly the changing of the wifi channel was only a temporary fix. The printer goes offline after a couple of hours and I have to shut off and restart the printer in order for my iPhone, iPad and Mac mini to pick it up.

May 7, 2015 6:25 AM in response to Robert36340by hcir1,I am convinced that this problem is a result of wi-fi connection of the Macbook to the network. I've had similar problems through all iterations of Apple operating systems. The only way I've found to solve this is to do the following:
a) Set a static IP address on the printer.
b) Restart the network router and hubs.
c) Add the printer using LPD and the static IP address.
d) If problems arise in the future, simply restart network router and hubs.

May 25, 2015 1:12 PM in response to mfromprinceby dataminer007,After reading your solution, I tried it on my HP LaserJet 3050 Printer. Using the default HP LaserJet 3050 driver, I could print Textedit, MS Word, and Emails but PDFs and Web Pages would not print. I did what you suggested and now everything prints:
1. Under the apple menu (upper left corner of the screen), go to System Preferences
2. Click on Printers and Scanners
3. If you have the HP LaserJet 3050 driver loaded, choose it, then click on the minus sign at the bottom to remove the driver
4. Click on the plus sign to add a different printer driver
5. The HP LaserJet 3050 should be shown in the Add Pop Up window
6. Click on HP LaserJet 3050
7. You will see "Use: HP LaserJet 3050" at the bottom with "up" and "down" symbols to the right. Click on it and choose "Generic PCL Printer" as the driver to use
8. Click the "Add" button to install the driver.
9. The driver should now be on the Printer and Scanner window
10. Choose the new driver and the 3050 should now be able to print PDFs and Web pages
If you have a nonfunctional HP printer and it is PCL capable, the solution should work. It may work on other brands as well so give it a try with the generic printer drivers instead of the specific printer driver.

May 25, 2015 7:15 PM in response to lhnshanaby pbterrapin,My HP PhotoStream C410A was connected to network. I could scan, but not print. I deleted the printer and added it back in using the HP JetDirect protocol. Printing started working immediately. Thanks for the hint.

Jun 29, 2015 9:06 AM in response to Robert36340by fredfrompleasant hill,Yes I've had two separate problems and the issue seems to be that when Yosemite is installed, it resets many of the settings on your printer.
1. the first thing that happened is the auto feeder stopped working. I could scan single copies on flatbed but it wouldn't access the feeder for multiple copies. called HP support and she took control of my computer you have to go to the HP controls/settings page and recheck the auto feeder box which Yosemite had changed to single copy/scan
2. a few days later the printer stopped printing. it was still connected to my mac and mac would send things to print but nothing printed although the icon on the mac said 8 items in the queue. called HP support again, and again Yosemite had reset things. she had me go to the printer controls (on mac) and delete one of the two pics of the printer. go to apple system preferences select printers highlight the printer icon that has a yellow lite on it and delete it with the minus sign at bottom. then click + sign and highlight and add your printer back. when you do that go to bottom of that page and under printer name select your printer name (YOS will have changed it). then under Use, it will have changed that to Air Print but click on it and change it back to your printer model. that should do it.
I'm expecting more of these little glitches from settings being reset. but they didn't start right away with Yosemite but maybe 3 weeks after and then in rapid succession

Jul 2, 2015 12:47 PM in response to Robert36340by PinkPlacebo,I had this trouble too, with my Epson. While resetting didn't work, I found that my scanner has its own "Image Capture" equivalent. For those who also have Epsons, you can open the Print/Scan section in System Preferences, then click the scanner that shows up (this should happen even if it's not available on Image Capture). Open Print Que/Scanner, then click Scanner in the corner of either of the windows that would have popped up. This opens your own special scanner box, as Image Capture used to. I don't know if this works on other products, but it did with mine.
