Mar 15, 2015 12:04 AM in response to Philly_Phanby iLukeJoseph,I have a iPad Air that started doing this a few weeks back. Would only happen once, maybe twice a day so I figured it was just a bug and the next update would hopefully take care of it.
Well the other day I was reading a discussion forum and it rebooted, only this time it just kept looping and looping. It finally booted back into iOS and I attempted a reset, rebooted in the middle. Tried a restore, rebooted. DFU recovery, rebooted. Kept trying and got it to the point where it asks if I want to use a backup or setup as a new iPad. Tried both different options but eventually will reboot.
It is seriously a paper weight now and I am out of warranty, but do plan on having Apple take a look at it. I am going to push for a free replacement or a repair. It was their software update that borked what was a perfectly fine iPad. And considering how many apple products I have purchased and this is the first time I have ever had a hardware issue, I really do hope they take care of this. The sad thing is, is that my iPad stayed at home 90% of the time, never played games on it, only used it for web browsing and RDP. And while I have a MBA 11" and even a i7 Surface Pro 3 it's just not the same as grabbing my iPad really quick to check the websites I frequent....

Apr 1, 2015 4:06 PM in response to Philly_Phanby 13thsperm,restore my ipad air but nothing's different... any solution?
-
Apr 1, 2015 4:37 PM in response to 13thspermby iLukeJoseph,Did yours reboot during the restore or after? You could try a DFU restore as well (google it). Gut feeling is you will probably be wasting your time, but it is always worth a shot.
My solution was taking it to the apple store and getting a nice genius and manager. Mine was going to cost $299 for a replacement, but they brought it down to $149, which I paid. I am sure if I I could have got it for free if I really wanted to push it. But I will keep that in my back pocket so if one of my other much more expensive mac's (I have many) fail.
Good luck!

Apr 13, 2015 2:02 PM in response to Techno_funkyby techy_tim,Having same issue. on iPad 4. Constant blue screen and reboots. iPad came pre-installed with iOS 8. No updates have fixed it yet. I have only had the iPad for 3 weeks. Apple support says they cannot fix it because the iPad was purchased as-is from Amazon.com. Please send out a fix for this.
