Yes, you can use your 2014 MacBook Pro with an Apple Cinema Display. You will need to use a Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter in order for it to function.
Apple Cinema Display (30-inch DVI) might show 1280 x 800 as maximum resolution - Apple Support
