Q: iMac Boots to Black Screen After BootCamping W7 (late 2009 21")
I used BootCamp to install W7 on my 21" iMac (2009). After the BootCamp partitiom was formatted, it began extracting the software, normal Windows installation procedure.
I Left the computer and returned after half and hour and saw the machine running: mouse has lights on, my Time Machine HDD was blinking as usual. But the screen shower nothing. Black. No keypress or mouse movement on USB or Wireless keyboard or mouse did anything. I ended up force shutting it off.
After restarting, everything fuctioned smoothly. both the OSes loaded and everything was fully functional. Except, there was a red tint on black colours. The corner of My black wallpaper appeared dark red. Youtube loading screen appeared dark red. The tint moved with the black colours. I hoped it would get better the next day and ahut down my computer.
I rebooted it today with a functional white Apple loading screen. Pressed the option key to get into choose startup disk. Choose Windows. And, black screen.
Now whenever I reboot, it shows a black screen only. I reset the PRAM (cmd opt P R) and the SMC reset (removed power cord) but to no avail. It still boots to a black screen. The hard disk sound and the chime are still heard.
CAn anyone help me with this? What is the problem, it seems to me, is either the display, or maybe since it boots to Windows now, the problem lies in the new OS I installed
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
