It sounds like there is an issue accessing iCloud Mail on your Macbook. If you haven’t already, take a look at the article linked below and try the troubleshooting steps that it provides.

For the last three days I've tried all kind of solutions, but nothing helped.
After trying so hard, I've decided to give up...
As I have all my mail at the Cloud, I had no problem to delete all accounts from my mail application and create new from scratch.
In the new account I use p07-imap, and this is just fine now.
