Q: Password protected folder that I can place apps into.

Im looking for an app or way to create a password protected folder that I can place app into . My daughter using my phone to play games , but I do not want her to have access to certain contents. There are tons of apps for jailbroken devices , but I do not want to go that route . Just looking for a simple solution.  Thanks in advance.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.3

I'm not aware of any way to password protect a folder. Individual apps have the ability to be password protected, but not all. The best thing to look into when allowing children to use the device for game play is Guided Access. This only allows them access to the individual app you designate. Take a look at this support document with information about Guided Access. iOS: About Guided Access - Apple Support

Apps in the App Store are developed by Apple, as well as many other 3rd party developers and companies. Part of the issue can be how much access is allowed in the API system for creating and managing certain things. The iOS system is a closed system, and access to particular things is not allowed to developers. The ability to access certain parts of the file system is one of them, and that might prevent the ability to create something like that.

You can provide feedback to Apple requesting the feature to create these locked folders by going to their feedback page HERE, and then click on the appropriate subject area. You do not generally get a response, but they do read this information. Depending on the amount of requests, they may implement something.
