Q: How do I access my Original Media from the Library?
When I import media, I do it directly to FCPX and store it in a library on an external drive.
I can access the original files only if I go to "Show package content" in finder.
If I want to import media to any other application - I´m using Motion 5 - and want to access it, it can´t be seen.
Do I need to store it on a drive before I import it to FCPX - is that common practice - or how do I access the original files?
Thanks.

If you want duplicate media on your computer and/or you want to modify a duplicate while retaining integrity of the original then store it on a drive before import as you described. If you simply want to use the media for a project like Motion where you're not altering the original file then "show package content" in Finder and drag the content from the Finder to Motion to import.
