    Hi,

I would double check the setting on the iPhone still list the Mac.

If it appears it is but it is not working I would consider resetting it  (turning the Text Forwarding Off  and waiting a few minute s before turning it On again (this should trigger the Mac Code Number) ).

    Hello,

I was just wondering if you ever fixed your problem.  I am having the exact same issue.  It was working fine and then on April 7th all messages stopped coming in on my Mac.  If you have any tips, can you share them?

    Thanks,
    Susan

    Hi,

Looking at dgt11's profile it does seem that they reply to questions for more info in the threads that they have started.

This one seems out of the ordinary in that respect.

Eric has listed most of the help documents on this and I have already suggested resetting the setting on the iPhone to get a new code number which re-make the whole link between the two.

Thanks Ralph.  I did go through Eric's tips.  I'm not sure what you mean by resetting the setting on the iPhone to get the new code number to re-link the two.  What specific settings are you referring to?

    Thanks again!

    Hi,

On the iPhone > Settings > Messages

If you have Enabled Text Forwarding then this should allow you to tap it and see who many devices are "connected" and whether they are selected to be so.

Text Messages Forwarding is the first item down the list after the Messages app is enabled.

It should read "1 Device" at least is lighter grey text.

Once to tap to enter the device listed should have the green (On) slide showing.

I am suggesting that you deselect the device which will disable the Text Forwarding function.

If you then leave the settings and wait for a few minutes the link to the Mac should be removed form the iPhone.

Go back to the Messages settings and select Text Forwarding again.

This should generate the Code pop up on the Mac.  It should be a new code and the iPhone should stay waiting for it.

Enter the new code on the iPhone.

It should now be working again.

Thanks Ralph..I think I fixed my problem.  Apparently, I have two iCloud accounts and was logged into a different one on my phone and Mac.  I synched them up and it's working now.  Hooray!

    Hi,

    Yes that will do it.

It needs to be the same ID when syncing across devices to make the Links work.

I have done this. (Resetting, and receiving new code). It worked as far as updating with the missed messages, but new messages do not show up. My replies/outgoing messages show up, but not incoming.

    Umm,

    Bit odd.

Normally the new ones sync as it is reset and the missing ones are "lost" forever.

    Lets just check.

On the iPhone in Settings > Messages the Send and Receive section list the iPhone Number ?

It is ticked and Active (even though it is greyed out) ?

The Apple ID that is used on the Mac version is also Listed here ? (Both Signed In and as an Active ID)

In Settings > WiFi the iPhone is connected to your LAN ?

On the Mac it is connected to your LAN ?  (it can Ethernet or WiFi)

Back on the iPhone in Settings > Messages the Text Forwarding is Enabled ?

    It lists your Mac ?

If there is an SMS chat showing on your Mac can you use it to Send SMS as a test ?

    Does this work ?
