This seems to be all that was necessary to get rid of SEARCH-QUICK on a MacBook Air 1.3 running 10.9.5. Just remove and secure trash the v.framework and both Safari and Chrome went back to normal on my colleague's computer.

Apr 15, 2015 4:07 AM in response to enrique vdmby Travellervet,Thank you heaps. Totes fixed the problem and I didn't have to sell my soul to someone to fix it for me. I was able to do it myself as a total non-computer person! WINNING!

Apr 17, 2015 7:47 AM in response to William Bombrayby fxmarc,April 17, 2015 -- My Mac was infected with this Search-Quick.com crap as well. Been driving me crazy since yesterday morning. I did google searches, watched a couple youtube vids and tried everything. I finally got rid of the **** thing. What helped me is I knew the date and time that the malware was installed - it was at about 9:32AM yesterday. I went through my System>Library folder and got rid of every file in every folder with that date and time. That didn't work at first because I guess I must of missed a few. I got rid of the Vframework file. That didn't do it either. Finally I found and threw away the entire com.apple.nsurlsessiond folder. To my shock and for reasons I do not understand it worked! Something to keep in mind - the malware hijacks your safari and replaces your homepage with it's own homepage. Make sure that you've updated the Homepage and replaced the Seach-Quick url with the one you really want. What a waste of time! Also, proceed with caution because all I know is that deleting all library files with the date/time of the infection along with the com.apple.nsurlsessiond folder did the trick. I hope I didn't do anything that will cause a problem in the future! Good luck! How do we shut down these jerks?!

May 14, 2015 7:52 PM in response to William Bombrayby motherom,I have mac air and quite by accident i found a way to remove the nuisance Quick Search,
go to finder
command, shift G
In the go to Folder search box, enter:
~/Library
Scroll down to Safari Folder and remove/trash these two files: LocationPermissions.plist; PluginOrigins.plist
(there is no framework or v.framework folders in mac air)
Hope this helps!

Those two files are normal files that are not in any way related to any adware I'm aware of. Removing them is extremely unlikely to solve any ad-related problems. I'd have to assume that you probably did something else that was the actual solution, and have erroneously attributed the fix to those two files.
For some more appropriate solutions, see my Adware Removal Guide.

Jul 23, 2015 6:55 AM in response to VincentKVby bluevalentine1123,I was able to find frameworks in my system library, but no vframeworks, there are several different frameworks and one starting with vmet.frameworks....is there another name?
-
Jul 23, 2015 7:06 AM in response to bluevalentine1123by thomas_r.,There are many different forms of VSearch at this point, most of which no longer use a v.frameworks item, as well as many other pieces of adware that could be causing your problem. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing the adware.

Jul 23, 2015 8:00 AM in response to thomas_r.by bluevalentine1123,Thanks of the reply. Is Malwarebytes previously known as admedic, or something similar to that?
-
Jul 23, 2015 8:03 AM in response to bluevalentine1123by thomas_r.,Yes, AdwareMedic is now Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac. Malwarebytes purchased it, and brought me on board to continue working on improving it and further developing their Mac product line.
