May 15, 2015 8:34 AM in response to tina3333by Limnos,How did you delete the files? Directly from Finder? iTunes does not directly inventory the contents of the media folder. When an item is added to iTunes or deleted from iTunes using the iTunes application, iTunes updates a database catalog of its contents. It is this catalog you see in iTunes. If you delete an item using Finder, iTunes does not know it has been deleted until you go to play it next, then it will show it as a broken link.
I am not going to type in all the possible solutions until I know this is what you actually did.

May 15, 2015 9:52 AM in response to tina3333by Limnos,You best bet now is to use an Applescript to search and delete broken links and hope those only represent the files you deleted. Check Dougscripts web site, or I know I have also recently come across others on the web.
