Q: Boot Camp missing after upgrade

Odd that I waited so long to upgrade and Apple still hasn't fixed this. I wasn't even aware of this being an issue until I decided to use up my bandwidth and download the upgrade. Any help on how to get my Windows Back? A few work utilities are PC only.

A:

You will need to redo both Gdisk steps. You have used the incorrect start value in step 7 of the first set of Gdisk steps.

You have used the GPT3 end (1405976048), rather than NTFS Start value (1405976576). I must have picked the incorrect value.

Can you see the partition in Disk Utility? Do not modify it any way. This is what it should look like.

The GPT was corrected after the Testdisk run.

Can you post the output of

sudo dd if=/dev/rdisk0s4 count=1 2>/dev/null | hexdump -C

Did the corrections work? If yes, please back up OS X and Windows to separate external disks.

Yes, I was able to boot into my Windows partition and my work tools load without any issue.

So I think I may have stumbled into this issue as well. You seem to be the expert on this issue and I was hoping you could help me. I found this thread, https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6883274 which seems to be a similar issue, but I can't really follow exactly what is happening. I'm not very experienced with bootcamp.
Essentially I just did the most recent Yosemite update last night and now the "disk0s4" is showing up. I've previously use MiniTool Partition Wizard to expand my Windows hard drive. I took the Windows HD from 75 GB -> 350 GB but now disk0s4 only shows 75 GB. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I also don't have a Windows 7 install disk, or the serial number available, and really don't want to have to spend $80 on a new one.

Can you post a new discussion and include the output of the following Terminal commands?

diskutil list
diskutil cs list
sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0
sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

The "sudo" commands will prompt for your password, and it will not be echoed back. You may also see a warning about improper use of "sudo" and potential data loss due to "abuse" of the command.

Please download the following two utilities which can help diagnose and fix partitioning issues.

Testdisk is available at http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Step_By_Step.
GPT Fdisk is available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdisk/.
