Q: Macbook losing internet connection, other devices not.

My Macbook pro routinely drops it's internet connection but maintains the connection to the modem.  It's not my other equipment as I concurrently run pings on the macbook pinging the modem and google, and I have my PC pinging google as well.  Only the macbooks ping to google ever times out at which point my connectivity to the internet is lost.

This started all of a sudden a couple of weeks ago, maybe with the last yosemite update I installed on April 16.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

    Hello, ravenn1977.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I understand that your MacBook Pro loses internet connection and other equipment does not.  I would need a little more information regarding this issue to provide a better answer.  What type of router, password protocol, radio mode and if the issue happens at multiple locations?  I would start with going through the troubleshooting steps in the article below.

If the steps above do not address the issue, I would recommend making adjustments to your router settings as outlined below.  I would also make sure all router firmware updates have been processed.
