Running outside with the workout app is simple and good. It doesn't give you detailed data like other running apps, but for casual running, it's perfect. I ran with the phone and watch for 35 minutes with Workout and it consumed about 13% battery life.  I stll get about 20 hrs of daily use, even with 35 minute runs.

After about 3 runs with phone and watch, I ran a 5k with the Watch without the phone and the watch was spot on with my distance.  I didn't have a problem with the brightness of the screen in the sunlight. I listen to music usually during runs and it was nice swapping back between the Workout app and the Pandora app using the double click of the digital crown.

Did you notice how much your iPhone battery was affected by your 35 min run with the watch?

    Thanks, Doug

No, did not check. But overall have not noticed a change in iPhone battery since I use it directly far less with the Watch. I'll check the phone battery usage next time.
