May 19, 2015 8:40 AM in response to Kappyby Matt Kulka,The old specs document of the iMac I would expect to be superseded by the 4k support document that clearly states:
With OS X Yosemite v10.10.3, most single-stream 4K (3840x2160) displays are supported at 60Hz operation on the following Mac computers:
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
- Mac Pro (Late 2013)
- iMac (27-inch, Late 2013 and later)
- MacBook Air (Early 2015)

May 19, 2015 2:36 PM in response to Kappyby Matt Kulka,You're missing the point. The two documents are in conflict with each other. I'm not asking about dredging up the spec sheet from when Mavericks was current which had nil 4k support. I'm asking about fairly new updates to the OS and the machine.

May 20, 2015 7:32 AM in response to Matt Kulkaby woodmeister50,In the Samsung setup, try setting it to AV mode instead of PC. TV vs. PC mode may
deliver different monitor info to the iMac, there by causing the problem
Also, try powering down the iMac and display. Then power up the display.
Then boot the iMac doing a PRAM reset.

Try this fabulous utility Retina display menu http://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/vi9yf/set_your_retina_macbook_pros_resolu tion_to I use it to run my 21.5" iMac at 1280 x 720 HiDPI, text looks amazing sharp and all apps work fine at this resolution. It also works with external displays.
