May 14, 2015 6:27 PM in response to samuelfromsavannahby gregorreti,That is strange. My "Canon MX310 series" printer proxy version reads "Version 10.3 (482.2)". Is there a 11.7.0.0 out there? I believe the first Canon Scanner driver started with 13.9.2 and their first printer driver started with 6.9.3 and goes up to 10.84.2
Canon's site has these as of today but only until Maverick 10.9: "
MX310 series Scanner Driver Ver. 13.9.2a (OS X 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8/10.9and: MX310 series CUPS Printer Driver Ver. 10.84.2.0 (OS X 10.7/10.8/10.9)
After that for OSX 10.10 it reads: "There is no driver for the OS Version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver."
I hope you can help figuring out what is going on.

May 30, 2015 5:53 PM in response to wordsworkby gregorreti,Unfortunately the scanner is not compatible. I already posted exactly what OS I am using and what exact Canon driver is NOT compatible. Older Canon printer driver works fine with OS 10.10.3
See my post from May 14, 2015
It is a huge shame that a short driver fix from Canon or from Apple is that blatantly ignore. The Microsoft arrogance of the mid 90s repeated.

May 30, 2015 6:15 PM in response to Jerry Newtonby drjsimpson,Hey Jerry!
Thanks for the update on the driver/scanner issue. I cannot find the specific version you were speaking of: v.10.26.0
All I found was v.10.67.2.0 which was released in Feb 2013. Could you provide the link for that specific version described in your message?
Thanks and all the best

Jun 4, 2015 10:35 AM in response to drjsimpsonby novocom,Me I can't print, really annoying.
But I would say the problem is not Apple Yosemite but Canon that is as slow as the snail to respond quickly to new systems.

Jun 4, 2015 12:56 PM in response to novocomby gregorreti,2 things:
- yes, canon is VERY arrogant. They adviced me to buy a new Canon printer even though this one is perfect. Canon said they will NOT fix the driver issue. There is VueScan software/driver that works, but it costs $30 if you need to buy it legally.
- Printer is working perfectly. Just go and download the driver earlier version, meaning for OSX 10.9 - you should be in printing biz bro.
Apple is also arrogant, for leaving us stranded. They write a lot of 3rd party drivers for the OSX, why not this one? Makes me not wanna buy new apple computer products but switch to Chrome.

Jun 12, 2015 3:30 PM in response to gregorretiby raf2ael,Make sure the printer is connected to the computer. Place paper to be scanned on scanner bed, then:
System preferences ---> Printers & Scanners --> Scan --> Open Scanner --> Show details --> Scan
It works perfectly well.

Jun 13, 2015 12:05 PM in response to raf2aelby gregorreti,Nope, doesn't work. You write: "
"System preferences ---> Printers & Scanners --> Scan --> Open Scanner --> Show details --> Scan
It works perfectly well."
Until here I can follow you: System preferences ---> Printers & Scanners --> Scan --> Open Scanner --> BLANK = all greyed out dialogue box opening"
What driver version do you have? My "Printer Proxy" states Version 10.3 (482.2). I heard that you may be able to backdate your versions and that may work. Thanks.

Jun 13, 2015 12:25 PM in response to gregorretiby raf2ael,In the blank, greyed window, at the bottom right check : "show details" that will open another window that will start scanning your document or you can hit "overview" and then "scan"
It does work perfectly, no need to change drivers or any other thing.
Good luck!

Jun 13, 2015 1:57 PM in response to raf2aelby gregorreti,Greyed out = nothing is accessible. When clicking Open Scanner the next "greyed out" window (with no access to the greyed out option) has these three listed: "Hide Details", "Overview", "Scan" (-there is no "Show Details" only "Hide Details")
What exact OSX and what exact Canon Printer/Scanner driver do you use? Please share this important detail.

Jun 13, 2015 3:18 PM in response to gregorretiby raf2ael,I am running Yosemite, I have no idea where to find the Pixma MX 310 drivers.
Found the driver: 11.7.0.0
If you hit "Hide Details" it will take you to the window with "Show Details" on it, but no need to go back given that you are were you should be.
Try hitting the "Overview" key, it will tell the scanner to show you what's inside it, then you can hit "Scan" and there you go.
Now, is your computer plug to the printer? Is the printer on in Scan? is there some document in the scanner bed? If the three questions are positive and you don't get to scan, then there is a problem, 'cause my system works perfectly well as does the system of the friend that show me this way.
