Q: iCloud Photo Library and storage space on iOS device
Hello,
I have a question about the use of the iCloud Photo Library. It is very good to be able to have all my pictures synchronized and available on any devices. So i uploaded all my pictures from my macbook and i have 74 Go in the cloud 11000 pictures and 200 videos or so. Now the problem is that even with the optimization option the pictures and videos on my iPhone and iPad are taking more than 5 Go of storage space which is a lot (they are both 16Go).
Is there a way to say for example I want to synchronize only the last three months of pictures and this or this album ? Otherwise as the number of pictures increase that issue will only worsen.
thank you for any feedback on that topic,
thibaut

No, it is all or nothing. One workaround, albeit with some significant drawbacks, would be to have two Photos libraries on your Mac with only one connected to iCloud. More information on how to do that: Adjust the size of your Photos library to work with iCloud Photo Library - Apple Support
The other thing you may want to do is make a suggestion to Apple for more options: https://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html
