Q: CD burning error

one of my playlists won't burn to a cd without an error, although other playlists will.  how can I fix that?

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

    The error message is that my blank  CD is full, but it's brand new and i tried several different brands and it always says it's full

    MacBook Pros don't run Classic.

     

    Regardless, you may be assuming the CD will behave like hard drive or flash drive.  It does not.   Most CD media are CD-R, which is write once, read many.

    CD-RW offers write once, and delete the entire disc, and rewrite again.  Both also offer session burning, which permanently burns an initial section of the disc, and lets you permanently burn another section in separate sessions.    Be sure your playlist is not larger than 630 MB and you are actually using blank media that comes prepackaged in jewel cases.  Preferably, Sony, Taiyo, Verbatim, or Imation.   Other makes often have trouble burning.   Those stored on spindles can damage each other while sitting on the spindle.
