If you were running iPhoto 9.x on your Mac prior to the Yosemite upgrade, you can download the updated version of iPhoto by following the User Tip below. I have also put a link to a page that has more info on Photos, with additional links:

Hope this helps. I'm still running Mountain Lion and using iPhoto, so not totally familiar with the various nuances of Photos (sorry )
