Q: Running out of disk space

Can I delete my movies from my PC iTunes library and download them from my purchases library later?  I am running out of disk on my PC.

    Hey FlannelQuilt,

     

    That is a great question about being able to download movies you purchased previously. Movies do take up a lot of disk space, so if you can download them again later it may be worthwhile.

     

    It is possible do download your iTunes content again, under some circumstances. This article explains how -

    There are some significant points to consider. You must use the same Apple ID as the one used to make the purchase. The content must still be available in the iTunes Store (sometimes content is removed from the store for one reason or another,) you must be in a country where iTunes in the Cloud is available and you must be in the same country where the movies were originally purchased.     So as an example if you were in the USA, yes you could re-download movies purchased there. If you were in Poland, you could not.

     

    As an alternative, you may want to consider moving your iTunes content to an external hard drive attached to your computer. This has the advantage of the media available immediately without having to download again, plus you do not have to worry about it not being available at a future date from the store.
