Q: App Store Issue - Cannot Connect to the App Store
Hi,
I am having problems with the App Store, I'll try to be detailed as possible. First, here is a detail about my computer:
- 2013 Macbook Pro 13, Retina, Intel Iris
- Yosemite 10.10.3
I have reinstalled the OS X but after the installation the I was having problem with the App Store, see the two images below:
I am logged in to my Apple ID, I can see the Featured, Top Charts, and Categories panels but there is nothing on the Purchases and Updates panels except "Cannot Connect to the App Store". I can access the iTunes and store plus there is an update for the iTunes but again I am stuck with the "Cannot Connect..." panel.
I've browsed the web for solutions, none of them worked. Here is a list of what I have done:
- Re-installed OS X - I did this more than a couple of times (a pain really), I still have the same result above.
- Used a non-Apple ID user - did not work
- Tried this link: OS X: "Cannot connect" or "Cannot connect to the App Store. An internet connection is required" - Apple Support - Nothing worked plus I do not have a Blue + (plus) icon on my Keychain Certificates.
- Firewall has always been OFF
- Internet connectivity is fine since I can browse the web, use Mail, use iTunes, etc. I can actually use the App Store except for the Purchases and Updates panel.
I am inclined to believe this is Apple's side of the issue or could this be a hardware issue? I have no idea at this point and I am exhausted. Hope someone can help me with this.
Cheers.
Mikhail

I am pleasantly surprised, the problem is gone:
What exactly happened was that: I was ready to give up and do a clean install but this time using a USB Drive. The last clean install I did was through the internet. So while downloading the operating system, I clicked on the Updates and Purchases panels and et voila the stuff showed up. I still do not know what fixed it and if this issue won't spring up again - we'll see but hopefully it will be the last time.
Do you want me to copy part of the Console log here as well? Also, would you know a specific cause of my problem? - so we could close this thread.
Thanks so much for the help. I appreciate it.
Cheers.
