May 24, 2015 4:05 PM in response to Stanggby Stangg,As a Workaround, I can drop audiofiles from the Finder directly on the timeline. I'm sure this can be done with photographs as well.

May 25, 2015 1:20 AM in response to Tom Wolskyby Stangg,This workaround also works indeed. I created a new event and imported the folder /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple (leaving the files in place of course, not copy to the main library). Then amend the sorting etc and you get this (finding all items with "water" in the name):
It works as you can search the tags and listen to each before you drag and drop to your work-event.
Still terrible that it is needed of course. The workaround for photos is just import the pictures folder, and drag and drop from Photos application. Ah well, all still rather disappointing.

May 25, 2015 2:51 AM in response to Stanggby Luis Sequeira1,Did you try creating a new user and trying the application in this user account temporarily?
I am convinced that if you created a small photos library in this new user it would appear normally in FCP X - which would in turn suggets that the issue is specific to your own account. What exactly is the cause is still more problematic, but running OnyX and letting it clear all the caches might help.

May 25, 2015 3:37 AM in response to Luis Sequeira1by Stangg,Hi Luis,
Good suggestions. I've created a new admin account, added some photos to Photos, added some music to iTunes, and then let the boot of FCPX rip. It ran a large number of scripts at it's initiation and displayed a splash screen, which it didn't do on my account on a full new install.
However, again the "Photos" and "Music and Sound" libraries remain empty. I also added a project and a clip and do a basic workflow with a transition, but the two views remain empty.
I repeated the same with a user that was existing, but had never used FCPX. Same results as with a fully new user/account.
So the conclusion is that it's NOT specific to an account. I will now try Onyx.

May 25, 2015 3:58 AM in response to Luis Sequeira1by Stangg,Onyx cleaned caches, checked the startup disk. I didn't try any of the other cleanup actions as yet. I'll do that when I dare.
Today I'm under maintenance with TechToolPro.
In any case, the issue was alas not resolved. I wish it was, but for now still working workarounds.
