Q: I am trying to find the age of my macbook.  how?

I am wanting to upgrade to yosemite, and it shows a list of which computers are compatible.  How do I find out the age of my macbook?  I have the serial number and the model number, but what is next?  It says to type the serial number into the "check your service and support coverage" page.  cool, but where is that?
