May 19, 2015 5:19 PM in response to ButterrMannby TransPNG,I'm using the Sport version.
I just got the same problems and it comes second time last night before I went to sleep.
My Sport version is also extremely heating and not charging. I plug it out from charger and switch off the watch.
I wait for 10 mins, let it cool down. I reboot it and it's return to normal.

May 20, 2015 8:55 AM in response to TransPNGby FLKitty,I had this twice, the issue stopped once I stopped putting near things that could move it. Seems that if it is bumped while charging the charger is shifted causes it to not charge and heat the watch. the heating still didn't affect the performance of the watch just the charge. Apple needs to figure out a way to stop the shifting of the charging cord from moving off the watch if moved during charging.

May 27, 2015 11:30 AM in response to sonnetaby Jordanrobbins48,I would definitely be returning that. I decided to go for a refund instead of a replacement. I refuse to buy another until know that all of these problems that shouldn't be happening in the first place are fixed!

Aug 3, 2015 11:12 AM in response to DJC_SPby MoosePad,I purchased my watch: 38mm Sport-Gray on-July 28th. My buddy got the same model the following day. Noticed that in the morning when I remove my watch from the charger it is defiantly VERY-WARM! My buddy's watch when he removes his from the charger in the morning is COOL AS A CU-CUMBER. Also I noticed that his battery life seems a bit better than mine? Though, I did have more applications running in the backround. I am concerned that OVER-TIME, I will be getting less and less battery life IF the heat issue is NOT resolved?! I have seen many posts saying that the alignment of the charger head has to be perfect??!! But its magnetic and is SUPPOSED to seat and align automatically??!! So I'm at a loss...I do sweat a lot and notice that the back has a lot of residue. I will start wiping both the charger head and the back of the watch before charging and see if that resolves the issue...

Aug 3, 2015 10:04 PM in response to MoosePadby pug1334,When I first got my stainless steel 42mm Apple Watch, the overheating and diminishing battery issue happened once. I called Apple and requested my charger to be swapped out because I read somewhere it is the charger not the watch or battery that's at fault. My replacement charger arrived, I returned the original charger and never had the issue again.

Aug 26, 2015 6:49 AM in response to Jordanrobbins48by pgauthi,Mine charges up to 76% (exactly) then I get the message. Basically I plug it in at night, it starts to charge, then in the morning it's at 76% and I have charger not supported message. It's always exactly 76%. Weird huh?

Aug 19, 2016 7:22 AM in response to sonnetaby mac_newbie24,I got the exact same problem with my Sport version.
However being in Vietnam I can't get it replaced or serviced so I'm stuck with a dead watch until I go back to Japan (which might be 6 months later...).
