Q: how to send directions from Maps in Yosemite using Outlook as email program?

I just bought a Macbook Air, operating system Yosemite 10.10.3. I'm using Outlook for email. I need to email a friend directions from Maps but the email button in Share is greyed out.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

I believe this is a Microsoft bug.  I have seen the same thing happen unless there is no attachment.  With no attachment it seems to work.  But Maps wants to send a PDF attachment, so it won't work.

Outlook is not compatible with Yosemite.  You'll have to wait until MS comes out with a version that is. I've heard that Office 2016 will be compatible and is scheduled for release this summer.  You might want to check into that more closely.
