May 13, 2015 2:52 AM in response to stardustagby VinceCharming,I think a Bravo should go to you as well for actually going to the bother of reading the whole thread, you appear to have much more commitment than most Apple Support/Services.
Yes the solid solution from Apple it seems is to pay them money for a refurbished iPad, take yours repair it and then sell that to the next person who has a fault, win/win for Apple, no wonder they have such high profits.
Such a real shame tbh, I was a committed Apple user boarding on Fanboy, but sadly (not for my bank balance though) those days now appear to be over.
All I can suggest for you is what I'm now telling everyone else, reach out to Apple Support/Customer Service and you may well be one of the lucky one's who get a Out of Warranty FOC replacement or you might not and end up having to pay the £206 repair fee.
It seems to be dependent on who you speak to, what time of day it is, if its raining, if its sunny, if its snowing, if your polite, if your not polite . . . can't really say as they don't seem to have a defined criteria for this, even though I'm still asking them to explain how they decide, but unfortunately they are still choosing to ignore my emails.
Anyway let me know how you get on . . and again bravo and thanks for taking the time to read the thread.

May 13, 2015 9:32 AM in response to VinceCharmingby Pete Kroner,This is a continuing problem for my iPad. No such problem with iPhone of iMac. I cannot encourage others to buy an iPad even as this graduation period begins. I'm afraid iPad sales will continue to plunge.... What about the Galaxy which Costco provides?

May 19, 2015 1:18 AM in response to VinceCharmingby VinceCharming,Apple are still choosing to acknowledge my emails or my existence with regards my questions about what is the criteria they use when deciding who will receive FOC Out of Warranty repairs to failed products/parts.
No bad going for Apple nearly 4 months I've been emailing the Customer Services Rep who was originally dealing with my case and I'm still yet to get a response from either him or anyone else at Apple, only time I do get a response is when he's set his Out of Office Message, so I do at least know they are getting through to him.
Shame on them really, just ignoring a customer who's asking a legitimate question, thinking that now's the time to ramp it up a little and start looking a legal avenues to get a response.

May 27, 2015 1:16 AM in response to VinceCharmingby VinceCharming,Apple Customer Support/Services still ignoring my emails asking for response with regards their criteria for allowing some customers FOC Out of Warranty repairs, while others end up having to pay . .
Won't even provide me with contact details for a Small Claims Court form that I'm filling in . .

May 29, 2015 3:09 PM in response to VinceCharmingby Ken Haggerty,Mr. Charming:
I've heard conflicting reports regarding the soon-to-be-implemented iOS 9.0. Some say it will fix many anomalies suffered by the older devices, such as iPad 2. Others suggest that it won't even be recognized by the A5, and therefor inaccessible to iPad 2 users. What say you; any news?

May 30, 2015 1:18 AM in response to Diavonexby rgs1511,Fantastic! My iPad Air had gone into a recycle mode when I could only get the Apple logo on the screen and eventually with a quick red flash the screen would go black and then recycle to the Apple logo. Nothing would get it out of this mode except this solution. It appears to be something to do with recharging from a power point and not via the Macbook. After having left it to recharge for a few hours the screen went to the Apple logo etc etc.... Now I am updating via iTunes and waiting to see what happens next.

May 30, 2015 11:35 AM in response to Ken Haggertyby Pete Kroner,I'd be a bit afraid to update to a 9.0 since Im still getting rebooting and freezes after going to 8. Are there any iPads out there that do work...normally. No problem with the iMac or the iPhone 6+ just the iPad technology which is the problem....iPad 3. Is this similar on the other tablets out there....any recommendations?

Jun 1, 2015 2:52 AM in response to VinceCharmingby johnnydownunder,Just advising that my iPad 2 which was fully functional with 8.2 (despite being slow) has discovered the reboot spam since updating to 8.3. I have tried all the suggested ways to power down the iPad including the DFU and no luck, it won't break out of the reboot cycling .... if reboots so repeatedly I can't even reliably power it down.
I dread attempting a Genius store visit but I am also angry that an iPad 2 that worked its now no better than a table mat.
I will attempt a revert to a previous iOS using the content of http://www.ipswdownloader.com/download-ipad-ipsw-files.php before trying the teenagers at the local Genius store.

Jun 8, 2015 9:06 PM in response to VinceCharmingby Lacrexius,I'm very frustrated with this, this iphone 5s product bought is brand new and ever since I updated it to 8.3 it keeps on restarting and restarting and restarting. I'm getting very very frustrated. I don't know if I should bring it to Apple Customer Support or something, they may just charge with an unreasonable price for checking it.

Jun 8, 2015 9:14 PM in response to Lacrexiusby Pete Kroner,My iPhone 6+ is working quite well while my iPad continues to reboot in the am with about 20 minutes of the white Apple ghost of death on the screen....no answer I guess but am looking for "alternatives" that work.
