May 29, 2015 3:18 PM in response to Erikdsnby Meg St._Clair,Given that the only biometric sensor on the Watch (or only functioning one) is heart rate plus the accelerometer, how would you propose the Apple Watch track weight lifting? Steps are comparatively easy as they are one type of motion. How would a watch know you were doing pull ups vs lat pull downs?
In all the wrist worn fitness trackers I've used (and it's a fairly large number), none has tracked weight lifting. I'm not saying that they don't exist but that they are not common as it's just not the sort of thing that lends itself to be tracked by that type of device.

May 29, 2015 4:12 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby Erikdsn,Thanks for the reply. I don't need it to automatically monitor my lifting. It can work like the JEFIT app (which doesnt have a watch version and according to an admin on their message boards, they are not currently planning on having a watch version). It would be nice if you could input your workout then have it follow along and give you timers etc. How could it really accurately monitor your progress on something like a stairmaster?

May 29, 2015 4:27 PM in response to Erikdsnby deggie,It does by your heart rate, if you are not at 70 to 85% of your max rate you don't get credit for the exercise at all. For indoor treadmills it uses both your stride and heart rate, it needs to be calibrated first.
