I checked this and it is Ma OS extended, journaled and couldn't see anything that indicated GUID

May 31, 2015 2:43 PM in response to mick 123by Eric Root,Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks/Yosemite.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
- iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) model number 7,1 or higher

May 31, 2015 4:40 PM in response to Eric Rootby mick 123,I finally got it installed. I turned off time machine and it started to install. I did a lot of other things that were suggested on the net but I think that is the on that allowed me to install. Thanks for all the advise here.
