Q: My recent calls appearing on another iPhone!?

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3

How recently did you upgrade?  My wife upgraded yesterday morning, and calls were still appearing throughout the day, but it stopped as of yesterday evening.

I've read this entire thread because the same thing is happening to me and my wife's phones and yes, we share an ID.  But for us, the call log is not being shared both ways.  She is not seeing my calls, but I am seeing hers.  I'm not a tech junkie or anything so I'm sure I don't understand, but if the ID was the problem, why wouldn't she be seeing my calls just like I am seeing hers?  And it's not on all of our devices (we have 4 iPods, a mac, 3 iPads and 3 iPhones).  ALL of those devices share the same ID, but only our two iPhones are having the issue.  I'm not trying to stir the pot or anything, I just want to know if anybody has an answer other than stop sharing IDs.  That isn't going to happen for us and we have shared IDs for many many years.  Thanks for any help.

It's only going one way as I can tell as my incoming calls only appear on my wife's phone as I don't see her incoming calls at all.  The only thing I can think of is that I hold the iTunes account as mine was the first one to get it setup.  This only happened after the 8.x upgrade.  Sure wish apple can get this resolved as all my business calls are showing on my wife's phone as well.

On May 22nd, 2015 my recent call list from my home iPhone started to mix with the recent calls on my business iPhone. My business iPhone is a different number than my home number.  I wish to keep the call records separate for each iPhone. For over four years I have had nothing like this happen between the two iPhones.  Yes my iCloud ID is used on five different devices because I have no need for Apple's Family Share nor Individual iTune accounts for each device. I want to share my contacts, my music, my photos and anything else that I desire between all MY devices... the exception being the Recent Calls on my iPhones.  Both iPhones have been updated to iOS 8.3.  Apple must have changed or reprogrammed something that affects the recent calls between the two iphones with different numbers, but having the same Apple iCloud-iTune account.   I hope Apple realizes what they have done and fix it now rather than later.

Unfortunate circumstance, but glad to hear from others who have had success for years with one shared Apple ID & iCloud account on several devices. We have 3 iphones and 2 iPads sharing one ID/iCloud accoutn and this has been successful for at least 4 years and never a problem. The only glitch is with recent calls appearing on 2 out of 3 phones. I'm hopeful for a solution.

Well everyone I believe I have the answer. Went to the AppleStore in Omaha tonight and got a hold of a genius that was quick to know. It apparently all has to do with FaceTime. When going into Settings/FaceTime, we all need to make sure that we don't have "Use your Apple ID for FaceTime." If it is set to do use Apple ID for FaceTime, for some reason that info will transfer. Make it only so that you can received facetime through your cell number. Once that is done, all is fixed. Now was that really that hard?!? Please let me know if that works for you...It did for me.

Sorry but I all ready checked that and my wife is using her own iTunes iCloud account on facetime so that isn't the fix.

I would think Apple would be working hard on this issue. Not sure that unauthorized sharing of info across devices with potentially different carriers wouldn't have legal issues.

I'm having the same issue too.

We have used the same iCloud account for years & it works for us (until this last week).

Handoff options are all off, yet my husbands call lists are appearing on my phone, but not the other way around.

It isn't a serious issue, but is slightly annoying - hoping for a fix ASAP.

FaceTime is off on on one of our phones.

Gad lad you sorted out your issue, but unfortunately this hasn't fixed mine.

If you have the same iCloud account set up on both devices, there is no "unauthorized sharing of info" going on at all.

DON'T SHARE AN ICLOUD ACCOUNT.  How hard is that to comprehend?

Has anyone found a solution yet?

Im having the same problem - iPhone 6 and 6Plus - among a couple of 5's and 5c's all running 8.3.

Please don't even start about splitting our Apple ID's, I have already done that for some of the phones - but we have too many kids to be able to family share on one account.  A resolution would be nice - as the rest of you have said this has only become an issue in the past two weeks.  Handoff and iPhone cellular are off.
