May 31, 2015 3:47 PM in response to statofconfusionby ChrisJ4203,Go into your inbox. Tap on Edit in the upper right corner. From there, you can tap on the emails you would like to delete, and a checkmark should appear in front of the message. After that, tap on Trash (lower right corner) and that will delete the mail. From there, you can go to the Trash folder and delete them there. The only difference would be if you have the account set to archive rather than delete mail. That setting is found in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then select the mail account in question. The settings is under Advanced.

Thank you. I should have been more clear in that I am looking for a way to delete all messages at once rather than one at a time. The process or steps I have found for deleting all message does what people say it does except the messages remain, they are not actually deleted.
