May 31, 2015 8:46 AM in response to SPSPSPby Sailor Ian,Apple, sort this out very quickly indeed please.
It's a silly bug, and whilst there might be an okay-ish work-around of saving it in default calendar and then updating, spare a thought for those with whom one might be sharing (multiple) calendars who now are prone to getting multiple alerts for a single entry, as we battle with the bug.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH RIGHT NOW.

Jun 1, 2015 1:39 AM in response to hueyoby VilniusNic,Hi Hueyo,
I'm having this problem as well - for about the past week. At first I thought it was me just not saving things, or thinking I had put stuff in the calendar when I hadn't - thought I was going mad.
Have been entering a number of events this morning and searched for solutions and came across this thread. As per others, the issue only happens if I change the calendar when creating the event.
Hopefully Apple will sort something out soon.

Jun 1, 2015 4:44 AM in response to hueyoby uncertainworld,Just to add weight to the calls for a solution. I too rely on the calendar to run my business, and I'm having the exact same problem. Hueyo's workaround is working for me at the moment (thanks Hueyo!), but my confidence in the usually rock-solid app is shaken. Apple - please fix asap.

Jun 1, 2015 4:13 PM in response to hueyoby csl,Same problem here. I noticed this a couple of weeks ago with a lost appointment made on my iPad. Looked later on my office desktop and the appointment had reverted to "New Event". It seems to have been intermittent for it seems to have gotten worse in the last few days. It also happens when I use Apple Mail to create a new event from a date in an incoming email. This happens across 3 Mac OS 10.9 and 1 Mac OS 10.10 and 2 iOS 8.3 devices using the same iCloud account. APPLE please fix this!

Jun 1, 2015 5:13 PM in response to hueyoby Tonic Bomb,iCal community: I have just spoken with tech support and to ensure that Apple take this up (if they have not yet done so - we cannot know), please consider the following actions:
1. As previously suggested by another member, contact your tech support and log the issue;
2. go to apple.com/feedback and select 'calendar' and submit feedback to let them know there is a bug in iCal. The more feedback we log here the higher up the list it might go.....
I agree,iIt would be great if a member of the Apple team could at least acknowledge they are aware of the issue and are working on it - I have also logged this as feedback to them.

Jun 2, 2015 10:59 AM in response to hueyoby CAI2014,Hey MAC SUPPORT, iCal is NO LONGER TRUSTWORTHY. I'm having exactly the same issue and it's new since about a month. I use iCal regularly for all, and it pushes through iCloud to 3 devices. Lately, on the MacBookPro and Airbook, it doesn't save the information, if you choose to assign it a project color first. It appears to save and then it reverts to New Event in a different timeslot, although it does retain the color assignment. The workaround to save in it's default first and then go back in to edit does work. But this complicates working with iCal and also is terrifying to lose an important meeting.

Jun 2, 2015 6:03 PM in response to hueyoby Easy61,I think this might be a refresh issue....if you start a new calendar event, alter it to the particular calendar you want to set then wait 10 seconds and then fill out the details it seems to work ok. The issue with this is that anyone sharing your calendar first gets the 'New Event' pushed through to them and then the correct calendar entry. Not sure what has changed in the last month.

Jun 2, 2015 9:26 PM in response to Easy61by hueyo,Thanks, Easy61, but no, it isn't working for me like that.

Jun 4, 2015 8:39 AM in response to hueyoby SPSPSP,Thanks for urging folks to contact Apple support, TB. I submitted feedback. along with a link to this discussion.
Fyi, this may be only me, but I am having the ADDITIONAL problem of edits to long-existing events disappearing. Example:
-- Wednesday morning: I edit an event that's been in existence since Monday. I close out, the edit stays, everything is fine.
-- Wednesday evening: The edit is still fine.
-- Thursday: The edit is gone; it's reverted back to the pre-Wednesday entry.
This is horrible. I have to double-check EVERYTHING now, days later. I may as well just go back to 1989 and use a paper calendar...
