Q: Restoring / Reinstalling Macbook Pro fails

I have a Macbook Pro 2011. Original there was Mac OS X ~10.6.8 Installed on it.

There was a crash. It was a hardisk proplem I think and I had to reformat the harddrive.

I tried to Reinstall Macbook Pro using the Recovery System.  Interesting about the Recovery

System was that it tried to reinstall Lion on my System what I didn't had Installed before.

    Did you buy the mac new? If it didn't come with original DVDs, then it  came with Lion installed. Continue with the Lion install, if you don't have the DVDs.

    I didn't remeber any DVD.

    I got a original Snow Leopard DVD, because I thought that this was the original version, and tried to install it, but whith the resulting Error "CPU Family not supproted".

    I will try to get a Lion DVD and try to install it. I hope the purchase will not in vine this time.

    best regards and thanks for your reply

    Lion did not come on a DVD, you will need to reinstall using Internet Recovery. See here;

    How far do you get when you tried Recovery? If you are not near an Apple Store, you may be able to follow this user tip from ds store;

    Thank you. I was able to Insall Mac OS Yosemite. By creating an install drive on the recovery system.

    I had also a lot of errors here.

    This copy of the Install OS X Yosemite application can’t be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading.

    But it was only the system time which was wrong.

    After correcting it, I was able to install it.

    Maybe the errors while trying to reinstall Lion was also caused by the wrong system time.

    Thanks again
