Q: Can you disable accidental gestures on the iPad?

I had proprioceptive issues. I have a hard time using any touchscreen, and an impossible time on some touchscreens and touchpads, with them going haywire.

I don't think I'll ever be able to use the iPad, but I have been able to use some touchpads by disabling certain gestures, leaving a few that I will be able to do, won't do by accident, and/or will be able to undo easily. I see that the iPad has a tool to disable multitouch gestures, and to create custom gestures, but it doesn't seem to have a tool to disable other accidental gestures, which can cause the screen to magnify several times, something to slide acros the screen, etc.

I don't know if this support page is helpful: iOS: About Guided Access - Apple Support
If it isn't, try to reset your iPad to factory settings and you'll lose the data on your iPad. So try to backup the important files.

Settings > General > Accessibility > confirm that Accessibility Shortcut is OFF.
Settings > General > Accessibility > confirm that Zzoom is OFF in the Vision section.

I just bought it today, and I am planning to return it tomorrow, but the two of your suggestions might help with this problem. It's just that there are so many other problems.

iPad has very hood system controls and Siri Is also helpful.

When you're at the Apple Store, you might want to have one of the specialists do a presentation for you. It's probably best to make an appointment ahead of time.

Apple gives 14 days to get a refund.

The Apple store is in a mall.

I have sensory issues, and can't deal with bright strobing lights, or loud high-pitched noises. I have allergies, including to perfume. I really can't spend that long in an ... mall.

You can ask a friend or family to help you return the iPad to Apple Store. They'll try to repair your iPad.
