Q: Apple Watch Device Account Number

The 5s screen seems too small to see the Device Account Number.  Does anyone know of another way to get it?  Perhaps "Device Account Number" should be abbreviated since it is so long

The "Device Account Number" refers to the credit card number assigned to your Apple Watch in Apple Pay.  All that is shown in the Apple Watch app on your iPhone is the last four digits.  Similarly, all that is shown in the Apple Watch app on your iPhone is the last four digits of the actual credit card number you input.

Why would you need to see any more?  You should not.

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply.  I only see one number.  Actually, three dots & one number.  It looks like it ran out of space.  Like it's expecting that the smallest phone is a 6.  My name also runs out of space, but that's not important.  I know that

Here is where I am looking (and assume you are as well):

In the Apple Watch app on the iPhone, under My Watch > Passbook & Apple Pay > [your specific credit card]

    I see this:

    CARD INFORMATION

         Card Number                     **** 1234

         Device Account Number     **** 5647

By the way, my name does not appear there at all, so maybe you are looking in some very different place.

That is the only place I know about that displays the device account number related to the Apple Watch.  Settings > Passbook & Apple Pay displays a device account number for the iPhone, but I would not expect any iPhone 5S to have that ability.

Is that where you are looking?

Looking in the same place, I see:

    CARD INFORMATION

    Name    RICARDO CLAR...

    Card Number       ****12345

    Device Account Number ...4

It looks like it ran out of room as the ., 5, & 4 are at the edge of the screen.  (b-t-w, it's an American Express card so I don't know if that's the reason there is a difference regarding the name.

Yes, I suspect you're right about the AmEx card behaving differently than my MasterCard.

But again, I wouldn't worry about whether you see the "Device Account Number".  Knowing the last digit should suffice when you use your Apple Watch with Apple Pay to assure that the right person got charged for the right amount.

Thanks, I thought that the Device Account Number was to ensure the merchant that the customer was legit and that the one number that I'm seeing is the first, not last. Has it been your experiance that merchants often ask for the number?

I've used Apple Pay perhaps 10 times or so.  I have never once been asked for the number, and do not expect to ever be asked.

Should you receive a paper receipt from the vendor, it will probably show the last four digits of your "card number".  When you use Apple Pay, that "card number" will actually be the device account number.  I think that is the only use that number has for you - to verify that indeed your card was associated with this purchase.  (Of course, the vendor will be supplied with the entire device account number which will be used for the vendor to be paid.)

Thanks.  Hope your concerns are alleviated.  Every time I've used Apple Pay has been without any issue or problem.

    Enjoy your Apple gear.

Not so fast.  Today for the first time I was asked for the last four.  This is the device number.  If you have your phone, great.  But it isn't on the watch!  Hosed.

I'm guessing next time you visit that vendor, you'll have your iPhone with you.

Indeed the Apple Watch's device account number is on the iPhone.

Had that problem today when making a return of merchandise paid for with Apple Pay on my watch.

On my phone, all I can see for "Device Account Number is "... # "[ 3 dots & one number]"  I can not find a four number series anywhere on my phone.  I get the last four digits of my credit card, but not the Device Account #.

I only get three dots and one number on my phone.
