Q: no message needs 10 digits

I have one person to whom I would like to be able to message, I receive from this person fine but when I send I get the message unable to deliver message need to use 10 digit number or short code. The number is a 10 digit number, I can call that number. Why can I not send a message?

How do you know the OP is in the UK? In the U.S., phone numbers (regardless of wireline or mobile) have 10 digits.

Make sure you have the correct country set in Settings>General>Language & Region.
