Q: Help with manually setting up iTunes folder on external HDD?
Hi,
I was trying to consolidate a couple of my iTunes libraries and I think I really messed things up...moved some things around I shouldn't have. Now iTunes can only find some my songs, but, not, all of them. The reason for the consolidation is because I just acquired a used Mac Pro and wanted to put all of my music on an external HDD to free up space on the internal HDD. Can someone please show me what the iTunes folder is supposed to look like by default (list, column view)?
Many thanks.
Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

You don’t put songs into he iTunes Media folder yourself.
Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks.
There is no iTunes media/Songs folder.
Just add the songs to iTunes. File > Add to library and let iTunes handle it.
Don’t mess around inside the iTunes folder or the iTune media folder.
