Q: My apple watch battery indicator showed low but it was fully charged.  Is anyone else finding this issue?

My Apple Watch low battery icon was flashing all day.  But it was 100% charged when I checked on the phone app.  I called the help line and (after a full hour) we reset the watch and phone and it the indicator has not shown again.  However, I still can't answer calls on my watch! Grrr.

Twice now I have had this issue. Both times it lasted less than a minute and then cleared.

Yes, this began today with 94% charge. What is the resolve?

The resolution is to reset the watch

I unpaired it and then paired it again. That has worked so far and it's been about 12 hours since.  If I were to reset the watch will I lose all data and does it bring the watch to it's original condition?

I unpaired my watch and now it's telling me the battery is too low to do anything (though I still had at least 40% charge). And of course I do not have the charger with me at my office. Anything I can do to get around this problem?

You will not be able to proceed any further until you have been able to charge your watch's battery.

I know this is an old post but I just bought an Apple Watch 42mm Stainless Steel and I have had it for 5 days. The low battery indicator came on at 96% battery life remaining. It would stay on for a few seconds and then it would go away after I went to a different screen(apps, settings etc.) It has done this everyday since I have worn my watch. I contacted Apple Support chat and they told me to unpair my watch with my phone(long process) and pair it again. The pretty cool thing is, it automatically creates a backup and when you pair again it keeps all of your settings, apps etc. My watch seems to be ok and I have not seen the low battery indicator for 24 hours. I hope it does not come back!

    Hi

You are referring to the Disconnected status icon (this is not a "low battery indicator"):

    disconnected.gif

This icon is shown on your watch face (ie when viewing the time) whenever your Apple Watch has become disconnected from your iPhone (and also has not connected to Wi-Fi as a fallback).

Bluetooth disconnections can be normal, happening whenever the paired iPhone becomes unavailable (for example, if it is turned off or too far away). Your watch and iPhone should reconnect automatically a short while after being brought close together again.

For the best performance from your watch (including the most power-efficient communication between your watch and iPhone), keep both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi permanently enabled on your iPhone.

If your watch and iPhone do not reconnect automatically after being brought back within range of each other, then - rather than unpairing and re-pairing your watch - keep the devices close by each other and follow these steps until they do reconnect:

    • Check that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your iPhone:
      • It may help to toggle Bluetooth off and on again on your iPhone (Settings > Bluetooth).
    • Check that Airplane Mode is not enabled on your watch:
      • When viewing the time on your watch, swipe up on the watch face > swipe left / right to the Settings Glance.
        • If the Settings Glance already states Connected and the symbol at the upper-right corner is a green phone symbol, then your watch is already connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth.
      • If your watch is not connected and Airplane Mode is turned on, tap the button to turn it off.
      • It may otherwise help to toggle Airplane Mode on and off again.
    • Restart both devices, turning both off together, then restarting your iPhone first:
      • To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;
      • To turn it back on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

To clarify: it should not be necessary to unpair and re-pair your watch. See my previous replies for more information.
