Q: How to clear all E-mail accounts from Maverick iCloud Sync

My problem is the following: I have quite a lot of e-mail accounts that I do not use anymore, these email accounts do not show up in the system preferences "internet Accounts" in Maverick. Maverick simply forget numerous "other email accounts" while mail accounts like AOL and Gmail are all visible.

It is very annoying to see all those old email accounts popping up at the most unexpected moments or simply replacing my existing email accounts.

Now I work around the problem by disabling them in my Apple mail settings, but that does not always work out either. The disabled accounts do not show up in the email accounts in system preferences either and when I change certain details in existing accounts they will be changed back by iCloud.

So what I want to do is to clear all my email accounts that are synchronised through iCloud at once. Maybe there is a terminal command or another way to reset iCloud. The aim is to make a fresh start, so to replace all existing accounts with those on my production machine.

Okay that is clear, but when I create a new email address with my keychain enabled they will immediately pop up on all other devices.

What will, the email accounts or the passwords?

What happened to the screenshot I requested?

I have the very same problem. I have an old account showing in Mail. When I click the minus sign it tells me to remove it from the internet accounts panel in system preferences, but that particular account is invisible there!! No one has a solution?

I have the same problem -- still on Mavericks. Did you figure out a fix?

I turned off Keychain sync and it seems to have resolved some of the configuration issues. I largely use Chrome, so I can live without Mavericks Keychain Sync.

All i did was disable the account. Go Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Select the accounts you do not want to appear in your mailbox any longer and simply deselect the "Enable this account" box at the top of the account information tab. It doesn't remove them fully but it does stop them appearing in your mail and cleans it all up a bit. Hope that helps

Did you ever get a resolution?

I have just experienced exactly the same problem with El Capitan. I have been using Apple mail for several years but now can't as my principal internet and email account is no longer visible on either System Preferences and Email Preferences drop-downs. Unable to select on usual +/- account.

I should mention my principal internet and email account is an Other account type (POP).

But if I try to add a "new" account with the same account details, El Capitan informs me that the account already exists.

So the question is: Where do the account details that are included in System Preferences and Email Preferences drop-downs come from? Does this only effect "Other account types".
