Apr 10, 2015 12:58 AM in response to Mrs. Orangeby Dready777,I have the exact same issues.
And I apologizes about the following but it has to come out...
Apple obviously don't like people managing themselves their library... It's like everything is made so that if you want to manage things yourself life will be a lot harder for you... I hate this, I don't have that much space on my computer so I purposely have some songs on my phone and not on the computer, so I don't want to sync exactly my library... I will have to redownload a lot of songs/video now...
Are you guys seriously not angry that a sync misconfiguration can delete all the content of your media library WITHOUT ANY WARNING ???? This should not happen and this should be followed by a swift response from Apple support not those very bad response we received so far !

Apr 10, 2015 1:31 AM in response to Dready777by Greenrookie,I've just installed iOS 8.3, Yosemite 10.10.3 + iTunes 12.1.0.50
PROBLEM STILL EXISTS... Exported my fone playlists, tried to drag it back into the iPhone, an alert says "Playlist was not copied to User's iPhone because it cannot be played on this iPhone"
That's a month without any music for me... maybe time to leave Apple for me...

Apr 11, 2015 4:32 AM in response to Mrs. Orangeby Dready777,The issue is still there for me too in iOS 8.3, on an iPhone6. I believes the issue comes from the synchronization through wifi. My phone keep srtarting to synchronize itself through wifi. Though I have no idea with what since I never activated it and nothing shows that a sync is ongoing in iTunes. I cannot even cancel the sync on the phone... Fix this please ! I cannot believe there is such a bug in a final release of the OS for 2 consecutive updates !

Jul 1, 2015 5:00 AM in response to jlzzzz8888by Greenrookie,Got tired of this problem for over two months... I tried to sync the music (failed), selected all the music, deleted it, I then had to drag/drop+curate all my music again (U2 album still there). It's better than resorting to wiping the whole phone. So far the music is still on my iPhone 5 running iOS 8.3, then upgraded to 8.4....
YMMV, since it looks like no other solution to this problem from Apple.

Jul 3, 2015 11:08 AM in response to Mrs. Orangeby danibaue0621,I fixed this for myself. I opened up Itunes and of course it didn't have any of my music in it. So i went into my document/music/itunes and in it, it had a folder called music. All i did is drag the folder into itunes and it got all my music back. I have a windows 8 but it should be basically the same for anyone.
Again it went into my itunes folder, there was a music folder in there and i dragged it from there and into my music spot in itunes. I hope this works for you

Sep 6, 2015 7:12 PM in response to bluebeariesby erli,I first notice the problem on my Ipad 4th generation. The videos & music are not syncing properly. After the nth time my videos are now all gone. Then I just noticed after the newest update, all my audio & video are gone in my Iphone 6plus but obviously still occupying space in my phone as its still nearly full in memory usage. Weird.
please fix the problem. I was planning to reset my Ipad but now I am waiting for the update as my Iphone has already been affected too.

Nov 16, 2015 7:43 PM in response to Mrs. Orangeby Psyence_,It looks like, for me at least, the problem was that the iTunes sync option for "Entire music library" wasn't syncing the entire music library, it was still syncing just what was checked if the "Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres" option was selected (which for me wasn't much).
I created a new playlist in iTunes on my laptop called "Stupid iTunes" and literally dragged every song into it. Then I went to the Sync Music page in iTunes, clicked on "Selected playlists ...", clicked the checkbox next to my new Stupid iTunes playlist, and hit sync. My 7,000 missing songs are transferring to my iPhone now.

Apr 26, 2016 3:17 PM in response to Mrs. Orangeby LaTalullah,The irony, for me, is that I finally gave in to the pestering to update my phone in the hope that the last mess they made of the music app would be improved. My music app now opens with no music.
I imagine the reason Apple can't admit to the machinations of their updates is because if one of their techs openly says that it was an intentional design in their update, they might be liable for litigation.
This will be my last apple product. Ever. I have never liked Apple. PC's are frustrating, but Apple just is incredibly illogical in its design and the 'upgrades' just make people homicidal.
UPDATE: Turned on ICloud drive and the 'automatic download' music and itunes apps in settings. All my music is back, but the app is still a hot mess.
